Job Description

We are currently seeking a Customer Service Administrative Librarian to join our busy Client Services team on a fixed term contract for one year.

 

This busy role covers a wide variety of tasks to ensure the smooth running of the Customer Services Department.  

You will have excellent organisational,communication and numeric skills, cash handling experience, be computerliterate and demonstrate first class customer service skills. You will bearticulate, have strong administrative background, have excellent communicationskills both written and oral and be a good team player. You will be a nativespeaker in Mandarin and Taiwanese (Hokkien) and be fluent in English bothwritten and verbal, as well as have a profound understanding of the Chineseculture and etiquette. Fluency in other languages both written and verbal wouldbe an advantage but is not essential. Full eligibility to work in the UK isessential.



Responsibilities Will Include But Not Be Limited To

  • Servicing client queries in Mandarin and Taiwanese

  • Liaising with clients from China and Taiwan to ensure prompt advice and service

  • Assisting with preand post-sale administration for the Chinese department

  • Entering and taking bids for each sale and processing internet bids and web related queries of a non-technical nature

  • You will be assisting the Chinese Department with catalogue production including design and proof-reading the Mandarin and Taiwanese text, as well as with preparing and arranging for circulation abstracts and condition reports of items for sale

  • You will also be researching items for catalogues and translating, with particular attention to checking on cultural originality

  • You will also maintain the department’s library of catalogues

  • The role includes cashiering duties, such as handling cash and recording payments accurately, balancing sales, assisting with registration, processing invoices and assisting with offsite sales




Requirements

  • You will have excellent organisational, communication and numeric skills, cash handling experience

  • Be computer literate and demonstrate first class customer service skills

  • You will be articulate, have strong administrative background, have excellent communication skills both written and oral and be a good team player

  • You will be a native speaker in Mandarin and Taiwanese (Hokkien) and be fluentin English both written and verbal, as well as have a profound understanding of the Chinese culture and etiquette

  • Fluency in other languages both written and verbal would be an advantage but is not essential

  • Full eligibility to work in the UK is essential
