It’s almost university acceptance season in the U.S.! Some of you may havealready received offers from schools while others may be still waiting forthem. To better prepare you with upcoming steps of the entire applicationprocess, the Shanghai American Center will host Consular Officer Mitch Ritsemaand EducationUSA Adviser Xie Pianpian to talk about applying for student visas,the visa interview process and U.S. college life. There will be time forQ&A after their presentations.

在美国国务院诸多旨在提高大家对于美国价值的理解的交流项目中，将著名的美国运动员送往世界各地参加体育交流活动的体育联系（Sports United）项目无疑是最受欢迎的一种。我们很高兴宣布，未来几周内，1991年女足世界杯冠军美国队队员Linda Hamilton和助理教练Lauren Gregg将会在中国多地参加交流活动，从体育的角度探讨女性的力量。作为她们行程中的一站，上海美国中心邀请您来和两位运动员面对面，听她们聊聊世界杯的经历、美国的女足发展以及女性参与国际性体育赛事的重要性。
The US State Department has many different initiatives to increaseunderstanding of American values. One of our most popular programs is SportsUnited, which sends famous American athletes to countries around the world forsports exchange programs. We are pleased to announce that Linda Hamilton andAssistant Coach Lauren Gregg from the 1991 Champion U.S. Women’s World Cup(which was held in China!), will be traveling around China for several weeks totalk about women’s empowerment through sport. As part of their trip, theShanghai American Center wants to give you a chance to hear directly from Lauraand Linda about their World Cup experience, women’s soccer in the U.S., and theimportance of female participation in international sports.
