This role is aimed at a highly motivated individual to work independently, and as part of a larger team to help grow Creative Words’client base and business within the UK, Europe and the UAE translation and interpreting industry.
The role is ideal for individuals who love the challenge of a sales environment, and, who have the enthusiasm to competently embrace all areas of business development; including but not limited to, prospecting and targeting clients, identifying sales opportunities across complete business portfolios, managing a sales pipeline, proactively gaining an understanding of clients and their respective industries, closing deals as appropriate and delivering after sales account management. The role is based in our South Croydon office, with most of the client interface performed via telephone and email. A laptop and phone will be provided. You will be required to schedule and attend meetings as required.
In addition to the above, the role would include the management of all placed jobs/requirements and a thorough understanding of CAT tools such as XTM, Trados and/or Memsource is a must. The successful candidate will need to be fluent in Chinese and have a degree in language or linguists as many of our clients are working within or targeting the Chinese market.
You will be responsible for promotingCreative Word's services to both new and existing customers. Targeting sectors and/or companies of worth, the focus of this role will be on new business growth and revenue generation within existing accounts and selected sectors.
In addition, the successful candidate would be required to work with our interpreting, training and design teams and therefore an understanding of DTP and DTP software would be useful.
Role Accountabilities:
Actively manage assigned accounts; identifying those of strategic importance to Creative Word, actively developing customer relations and ensuring customer retention
Identify opportunities within account base for up selling, cross selling and closing deals
With the assistance of the BDD, contact perspective clients to sell Creative Word’s services.
Arrange meetings with prospective high value clients to prospect for new business
Development strategies to ensure that relationships with clients are maintained and developed and that opportunities to increase the scope of a client base within a single account are solicited and acted upon
Manage and qualify all English to Chinese freelance linguists
Liaise with our Chinese speaking clients to further develop this business.
Ensure that in-house systems are updated accordingly and that relevant procedures are followed
Participate in networking events and conferences as necessary
Evaluate personal sales performance against targets and identify areas for improvement / change where necessary; share good practice with colleagues
Ensure a full understanding of and adherence to all Creative Word Confidentiality and Information Security systems and policies
Regular pipeline reporting and updates to the Business Development Director.
Deliver a Business Development plan which details a) the steps and activities needed to identify and approach high value new business prospects and b) the steps and activities needed to up sell, cross sell and increase departmental scope within Creative Word’s existing accounts
Ensure that social media strategies are utilised effectively throughout the whole sales cycle, with reference to such strategies in the Business Development plan
Develop and maintain the CRM system so that this can be used as a helpful sales tool
Review and tailor communication strategies as necessary; ensuring that regular contact is maintained with the Creative Word team
Ensure that in-house systems are updated accordingly and that relevant procedures are followed
Contribute to the development of processes and procedures relating to any facet of the role including sales, communication, social media, logistics, etc
Participate in networking events and conferences; ensuring that relevant contacts are made and nurtured and that the Creative Word brand is promoted
Ensure a full understanding of and adherence to all Creative Word Confidentiality and Information Security systems and policies
Requirements:
Education - Must be educated to at least degree level (preferably Masters) and the degree must be related to Linguists or Language
English Language – Excellent written and verbal skills; allowing role holder to communicate professionally and articulately (English language skills will be thoroughly tested as part of the interview stage)
Chinese Language – Must be able to converse and write in Mandarin Chinese to a high level
Time Management – Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multi task
Monitoring – Ability to monitor and assess personal and organisational performance, allowing improvements or corrective action to be identified and implemented
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to Prioritise and Multi-task
Ability to work well under pressure
Target driven and competitive
Desire to develop a successful sales career
Experience of B2B sales via telephone would be advantageous
Driving licence, valid to drive in the UK would be advantageous

Our client, a world leading Chinese real estate developer is looking for an ACCA or CIMA qualified/part qualified accountant to join their account department on a one year maternity contract.
Your Responsibilities:
Familiarity with Chinese accounting system
Prepare statutory accounts and compliance with IFRS;
Review invoices against PO's or contracts and gaining approvals, processing invoices;
Ensure all monthly invoices have been recorded before month end;
Resolve account/invoices queries in a timely manner;
Fixed asset processing and reporting.
Use Sage system to Prepare statutory accounts Process and recording invoices.
In charge of Bank reconciliations: Review the bank statement, Research and reconcile all discrepancies, File the bank reconciliation statement.
In charge of Monthly Financial Reporting, Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for both GBP and RMB account and prepare group consolidated financial statements in both China and UK accounting systems.
Assist with complex and group audits.
Assist with preparing cooperation tax computations.
Manage and review the VAT report prepared by accounts staff, File and submit the Group VAT returns monthly online; Responsible for VAT compliance.
Construction Industry scheme (CIS) Monthly filing, and Responsible for the compliance with the CIS regulations and communicate with HMRC for any issue arising.
Contract Management, Manage and file all contracts signed by GL UK companies and third party, Review corresponding contracts before making any contract related payments.
Marketing Sales Ledger Management, Review and record the sales ledger in marketing system.
Your background:
ACCA/CIMA fully qualified OR final stage candidate
Working experience in under Chinese accounting system would be beneficial
Experience with computer system implementation, or with SAP systems generally could be useful for system developments.
Working experience in property/real estate industry would be beneficial but not essential
You will be keen to advance your knowledge and capabilities through continuing professional development as well as through experience.
Written and spoken skill in both English and Chinese/Mandarin is essential
