『西南美国商会协同美国驻成都总领事馆于2016年5月13号在威斯汀酒店（解放碑）成功举办了早餐会。』博卡斯大使与西南美国商会会长王晓东先生、美商会理事及在重庆的美资企业代表共进了早餐。

The American Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China together with the U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu held a breakfast meeting in Westin Hotel Chongqing on May 13th, 2016. Ambassador Baucus had the breakfast with the Chairman of AmCham Southwest, Mr. Benjamin Wang, the AmCham Board of Governors and the representatives of American enterprises in Chongqing.

出席本次早餐会的嘉宾包括西南美国商会会长王晓东先生、美商会理事以及以下在重庆的美资企业代表 — 惠普，江森自控，福特，联合科技，百力通公司，重庆谈石融资租赁公司。博卡斯大使和美商会及各公司代表讨论了中国和美国之间的外国投资动向和趋势。他对重庆投资环境非常感兴趣，并且也很想了解重庆如何能够更适应美国投资。

Guests in attendance included the Chairman of AmCham Southwest, Mr. Benjamin Wang, the AmCham Board of Governors and the representatives of the American enterprises in Chongqing as follows - HP, Johnson Controls, Ford, United Technology, Briggs and Stratton, and Stone Tan Financial. The Ambassador and the guests discussed about foreign investment trends between China and the United States. He was interested in how Chongqing can be more attractive and adaptive to American enterprises’ investment.

参会嘉宾跟大使提到了公司面临的经验和挑战。挑战包括招聘和留用工作人员（特别是高科技行业），市场明朗度（相比于上海或北京），和增加劳动力成本（制造行业）。美商会及各美国企业代表就此话题展开了广泛而深刻的意见交流。

The Ambassador was informed about experiences and challenges the American enterprises had in Chongqing. Key challenges mentioned included recruiting and retaining qualified staff in technology companies, transparency in marketing (compared to Shanghai or Beijing), and increasing labor cost for manufacturing industries. The participants had an impressive discussion on these issues.

Introduction of Ambassador Baucus

巴拉克•奥巴马总统于2014年1月7日提名马克斯•西本•博卡斯出任美利坚合众国驻中国大使。2014年2月6日，参议院确认了他出任大使的提名，2014年2月21日，久•拜登副总统主持了他的宣誓就职仪式。博卡斯大使此前是来自曼塔纳的资深合众国参议员。他自1978年至2013年在美国参议院任职，是曼塔纳任职时间最长的合众国参议员，也是参议院任职时间第三长的参议员。

On January 7, 2014, President Barack Obama nominated Max Sieben Baucus as the Ambassador of the United States of America to China. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 6, 2014, and was ceremonially sworn in on February 21, 2014. Ambassador Baucus formerly served as the senior United States Senator from Montana. He, serving in the U.S. Senate from 1978 to 2013, was Montana’s longest serving U.S. Senator, and had the third-longest tenure among those serving in the U.S. Senate.

10年前博卡斯先生作为蒙大拿州联邦参议员率领贸易代表团访问重庆，西南美国商会在洲际酒店为代表团举办了早餐会，10年后西南美国商会再次同现任美国驻中国大使博卡斯先生共进早餐，10年来重庆巨大的变化令博卡斯大使惊叹不已！希望能有更多的美资企业到重庆投资发展。

It’s been a decade for AmCham to have breakfast meeting with Mr. Baucus again since 10 years ago when Mr. Baucus visited Chongqing as Montana Senator leading a trade mission and the American Chamber of Commerce held a breakfast meeting for them in InterContinental Hotel. Ambassador Baucus was surprised by the tremendous changes in Chongqing over 10 years, hoping more American enterprises to develop in Chongqing.
