许多在澳洲生活多年的朋友在听到本地人原汁原味的“简略式”澳洲英语时，还是会跟不上他们的用词和语速……

澳洲腔比较接近英国腔，但不会像英国腔一样发音那麽重，例如美国腔的 [æ]，英国腔会发成 [ɑ]，但澳洲腔在这个发音上偏美式；

还有上面提到英国腔较不会捲舌，但澳洲腔会捲一点舌，只是捲的幅度不像美式英语这麽捲。

附上一个澳洲腔的小笑话：

有一个美国人外派到澳洲工作，有一天他问邻居 “What are you going to do today?"

没想到邻居竟然说 “I’m going to the hospital to die."

美国人当场愣住，不过其实邻居说的是 “I’m going to the hospital today" 啦～ 真是误会大了！
