除了美国大学之外，很多中国家长和学生现在也把美国作为小学、初中和高中阶段的留学目的地来考虑。本次讲座中，上海美国中心请来了多位美国校方人员来向大家介绍美国的K-12基础教育体系，他们会着重分享在基础教育阶段中国的留学生如何在美国获得成功的经验，并介绍包括为英语非母语学生设计的语言项目、资优学生项目、以及和中国合作的双边项目等一些中国学生可能会感兴趣的资源。 

Many Chinese parents and students areconsidering the United States as a study destination not only for college, butmany are also choosing to study at America’s middle and high schools. To helpexplain the U.S. K-12 system, the Shanghai American Center is proud to host apanel featuring school administrators who will share their perspectives on howChinese students can be successful in the U.S. They will also share some of theunique programs the US has to offer, such as English language program forstudents whose native language is not English, programs for gifted and talentedstudents, and bilateral programs with China.

整个美国大选过程中，最被大家热议的话题之一，是两位总统候选人在外交政策上的立场。本次选举过程中，外交政策涉及的话题非常繁多，包括伊斯兰国、伊朗核问题、叙利亚难民、网络威胁、跨太平洋伙伴关系协定、北约问题等等。不仅是候选人本身，选民对一些问题的立场也有很大分歧。本次讲座中，上海美国中心请来一位领馆的外交官，带领大家就这些话题、两位候选人在这些话题上的立场、以及这些立场对美国及全世界意味着什么等问题展开讨论。
