iMend is growing fast and is looking for an experienced Buyer / Stock Manager to join our friendly team. - Buying parts for mobile phone & tablet repairs from UK and China suppliers
- Constantly seeking to maximise profit margins by sourcing the best quality parts at the cheapest possible prices from all available suppliers
- Negotiating the very best prices & commercial terms adhering to target prices
- Sourcing & vetting new suppliers
- Developing relationships with key suppliers
- Monitoring supplier performance
- Quality control testing of all parts on arrival & organising the return & refund of any faulty parts
- Responsible for ensuring at all times there are adequate stock levels of parts required for our range of repairs / devices
- Responsibility for the pricing strategy across the range of repairs factoring in part prices and competitor benchmarking analysis
- Always seeking to improve profit margins through a combination of effective buying and strategic pricing
- P&L management, value engineering and cost reduction planning
- Daily ordering of parts
- Fully responsible for management and accountability of all stock
- Checking parts in and out of stock control system
- Producing weekly reports showing full accountability of all parts purchased reconciled against repairs done
- Stock taking / stock reconciliation
- Weekly stock and profit performance reporting
- Continuous improvement to systems
- Recycling of used parts for highest value
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- Strong commercial focus and good negotiation skills
- Excellent IT, numeracy, data analysis & reporting skills
- Experience of stock control systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised, detail focused and highly accurate
- Hard-working with good problem solving skills
- Pro-active individual that can work autonomously and always strives for constant improvement in everything they do
- Experience dealing with Chinese suppliers an advantage
- Experience dealing with Customs & Excise tariffs and landed costs an advantage
- Driving license required
