Charlotte Bunch, 为国际人权和女权发声

Charlotte Bunch 是罗格斯大学全球女性领袖中心(CWGL)的创始主任和高级学者。她是一位社会运动家、作家和女权主义者，LGBT和人权运动的组织者。现在她是一家妇女研究和性别研究机构的特聘教授，之前她在华盛顿担任政策研究学院的院士，也是华盛顿妇女解放运动和 《Quest: A Feminist Quarterly》的发起人。

她参与了许多联合国层面公民社会的行动，这包括提倡“女权就是人权”的观念和为联合国妇女署的创办作出贡献。她获得许多奖项，包括国家女性名人堂，白宫埃利诺罗斯福人权奖，和获诺贝尔和平奖提名的《1000位女性和平运动家》。

她写了大量有影响的论文，编写了九本文集和两本书《充满激情的政治：行动中的女性主义理论》和《要求问责：女权的全球运动和维也纳会议》。

在她的传记纪录片《夏洛特•邦奇的女权传奇》放映之后，她会就她过去25年的人权和女权活动经验做一分享，如何推进女权就是人权的观念，以及人权和女权的关联性。

This program will be conducted in English with Chinese interpretation. The movie is in English with Chinese subtitles.

Every year, during the month of June individuals around the world celebrate LGBTI Pride Month with parades, gatherings and commemorative events. This year, join us at the Beijing American Center as we kick off Pride Month programming with a screening of the documentary film “Passionate Politics: The Life and Work of Charlotte Bunch”.

Charlotte Bunch: a leading voice on international human rights and women’s rights

Charlotte Bunch, Founding Director and Senior Scholar at the Center for Women's Global Leadership (CWGL) at Rutgers University, is an activist, writer and organizer in feminist, LGBT, and human rights movements. A Distinguished Professor in Women’s and Gender Studies, Bunch was previously a Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies in DC, a founder of Washington DC Women’s Liberation, and of Quest: A Feminist Quarterly.  

She has been involved in many civil society efforts at the UN, including advocating for women’s rights as human rights and for the creation of UN Women. Her many awards include the National Women's Hall of Fame, White House Eleanor Roosevelt Award for Human Rights, and the “1000 Women Peace Makers” nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. 

She has written numerous influential essays, edited nine anthologies and authored Passionate Politics: Feminist Theory in Action and Demanding Accountability: The Global Campaign and Vienna Tribunal for Women's Human Rights.

After the screening of the film about her life, “Passionate Politics: The Life and Work of Charlotte Bunch”, Charlotte Bunch will talk about her past 25 years of experience in human rights and women’s rights movements, and will discuss their interconnectedness to promote the idea that women’s rights are human rights.

The event is organized by the Beijing American Center and China Women’s Film Festival.

This program is not suitable for children under 10.
