As we acknowledge those who have placed themselves among the highest academic achievers in Victoria, at Carey we celebrate our students’ successes in all facets of life. The Class of 2018 have made many contributions to Carey and the broader community and will continue to create positive change in their lives beyond school. Most will continue study next year, and we anticipate over half getting their first university preference and 90% receiving one of their first three preferences.

2018毕业生Katie成功感言:

Katie has been at Carey since Year 7. She was the only student from her primary school to come to Carey, which meant she quickly had to learn to create new friendships and relationships at school.

Kaite是7年级进入Carey的大家庭开始学习的。她是学校安排采访学生中唯一从外校完成小学教育转入的学生。这就表明，Katie有很好的社交能力融入新的学习环境并结交新的朋友。

She leaves Carey in Year 12 with the Prize for VCE Studio Arts and the Prize for VCE Media. An outstanding and creative artist, Katie has been passionate about drawing since she was seven. This eventually led her to a school art trip to New York in 2017, exploring the art districts and museums.

Katie在VCE艺术设计考试中博得头筹，这不仅表现了她杰出的艺术绘画能力，同时让她有机会代表学校去美国纽约参加艺术之旅！

‘The New York trip inspired me to further develop my skills in my art practice, and that there's so many different ways you can look at things in the world and create art out of it. It's just so endless.’

Katie also participated in the World Challenge in 2016, where she and about 15 other students travelled to India. They helped to repaint a kindergarten in a small village, hiked through the southern regions of India, and visited the Taj Mahal. She said it was really rewarding and an experience she’s glad she went for.

2016年Katie参加了世界锦标赛并和15名学生一起前往印度进行比赛。他们帮忙重新粉刷了一个小村庄的幼儿园，徒步穿越印度南部地区，还参观了泰姬陵。她说这真的很有意义，她很高兴能去体验！

‘Carey taught me to try and take every opportunity you can. Because you never know what will happen, when you go on exchange or overseas on World Challenge or you tried something you've never done before.’

Katie wants to make an impact on the world by helping others to see new perspectives through art. She wants to encourage people to think outside of themselves and provide them with an experience, which we have no doubt she will achieve.

Katie希望通过艺术帮助他人看到新的视角，从而对世界产生影响。她希望鼓励人们跳出自己的思维模式，为他们提供一种新的体验！
