The “Centennial State” is the high-altitude gateway to the majesty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and its many ski resorts attract ski enthusiasts from around the world.

But visitors don't have to wait for winter to experience the thrills nature offers, as these kayakers making their way through the white water of the Platte River at Confluence Park in Denver are finding out. This park is just one of the city's more than 200 parks, river and trail areas, public golf courses and recreation centers.
