At the centre of BP's Aromatics & Acetyls business, the Senior Strategy Analyst will report to the Strategy Director and drive strategy and plan development, assumption reviews and refreshment, ad-hoc strategic and business option studies,participate in Downstream Segment initiatives, influence the shape and setting of long term project pricing and business environment frameworks.

This role has been opened up in Sunbury following a business transformation within our Petrochemicals business that will realign this work through our UK Centre.

• Lead strategy refresh context for all product lines including: updating supply/demand balances, tradeflows, utilizations, correlations to shape spread and pricing assumptions. Maintain updates to capacity additions/shutdowns and new build announcements.

• Lead ad-hoc strategic studies such as acetyls derivatives forecast, regional market studies, and value chain analysis

• Conduct scenario analysis using models such as the Acetic Acid Industry Model (AAIMs) and pricing correlations

• Support Business Improvement Plans (BIPs) to ensure consistency with global and long term forecasts

• Support Segment and Group led investor presentations by validating supply and demand, and business environment proof points

• Develop project product price set assumptions (including key feedstock pricing), prioritize development and refresh based on change in environment/competitive reinvestment positioning and projects requiring Segment approval. Communicate to business development network and provide assurances on ATNs and FMs to ensure consistent pricing and business environment assumptions.

• Participate in post project reviews to understand lessons learned on project pricing and assumptions methodologies

• Lead on business information alignment and sharing with Marketing Analysts working in the Global Strategic Marketing Director team

• Act as an ambassador for the BP Values as a highly visible team member within the business

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Finance

• Strategy experience and chemicals industry understanding

• Expert in strategic planning tools and frameworks (such as supply/demand or value chain analysis)

• Strong understanding of tradeflow development, price setting mechanisms, cost curves

• Experience in developing, utilizing and validating key inputs into reinvestment and restart economic models to develop project price sets

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a global business

• Further commercial business qualifications

• Ideally Chinese (Mandarin) speaker
