出生于4月12日的美国爵士乐音乐家赫比·汉考克（Herbie Hancock）是一个鲜活的传奇，五十多年来他一直在创新和拓展爵士乐的边界！ 

他一直坚持信奉新技术，开创了爵士乐合成器的使用，并帮助创建爵士融合风格。

他今天依然活跃着，作为塞隆尼斯-孟克爵士音乐学院（Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz）主席教授下一代爵士音乐家，并作为联合国教科文组织亲善大使通过音乐促进文化交流和相互了解。

2010年，位于北京的美国驻华大使馆安排了赫比·汉考克、歌手迪·迪·布里姬沃特（Dee Dee Bridgewater）以及该爵士音乐学院的学生在北京紫禁城和上海世博会的演出。

Born on April 12 American jazz musician Herbie Hancock is a living legend who has been innovating and expanding the horizons of jazz for over fifty years! 

He has consistently embraced new technologies, pioneering the use of synthesizers in jazz music and helping to create the jazz fusion genre. 

He is still active today, educating the next generation of jazz musicians as chairman of the Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz, and promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding through music as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. 

In 2010, the U.S. Embassy in Beijing arranged performances by Herbie Hancock, vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater, and students from the Monk Institute at the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Shanghai Expo.
