首先来分享一下网友天使之城的亲身故事,在英国经历的整个产假程序——
在我确定自己怀孕的时候,我在这所中学工作已经一年多了,圣诞节一过,很快我就怀孕五个月,产假的准备工作立刻提上日程。众所周知,英国的教育,医疗,养老的社会体系是非常完善的,各种福利吸引着非法移民铤而走险,不惜为此付出生命的代价,每次看到这样的新闻我都不寒而栗。在英国生活三年多,我发现传说中的福利其实和我们的关系并不大,每一项的福利都有各种的规定,一个家庭的共同收入超出一定的范围,那是什么样的补贴都享受不到的,靠政府福利生活的人是很被英国人看不起,可是这其中不少也是英国人,他们总是说太多人在滥用福利,钻体系的空子,摧垮这个国家的各种体系,尤其是NHS服务质量和效率每况愈下。
自从怀孕之后,我的人生进入下一个全新的阶段,生活又多了很多的内容,让我对这个国家又有新的认识和经历,尤其是产假这一方面的信息。在英国,不工作的孕妇根据另外一半的收入,享受政府的Maternity Allowance,如果是单亲妈妈的话,又是另外一种补助。而工作的孕妇又根据工作的时间分为三种情况:工作半年,一年或者一年以上而享受不同的产假时长和薪水,不管你是在什么组织上班,基本上都可以享受到国家统一的产假薪水标准,而因为工作年限,又可以享受到工作之内的一些福利,不过这些组织必须是合同的,如果在工厂工作的话是另外一种说法了。
英国学校在这一方面做的很好,我在这方面深有体会。我们这个助教的职位,其实就是给妈妈提供的,工作时间短,压力小,又可以和孩子上下班,享受周末和假期,薪水虽然不多,可是没有小孩看护的费用,算是一种补偿。在我的同事里,只有三四个还没有做母亲,我同事说她在学校工作六年,我是这群同事里第一个怀孕的,所以她们都可以给我很多帮助和意见,毕竟一大群妈妈都是过来人,另外就是相关的负责人,我有任何问题都随时帮助解决,一开学那会我对气味敏感,就取消我所有的科学课,医院各种检查也都批准,有时候晚点或者不适,上班晚或者不上班也从来没有被查问过,我基本上递交了所有的产假手续,同事们教我在四月底休产假,那时我都九个月了,她们说手续是一方面,可是现实又是另外一方面,时间越晚越好,如果有什么意外的话,就自动进入产假时间,这样等孩子出生之后,我就有足足八个月和孩子在一起。这帮同事们主意很多,最近有同事说要我列个单子,在我最后一个星期她们要给我一个BABY SHOWER,算是集体庆祝。

Before your baby is born 宝宝出生前
When you are expecting a baby, you are entitled to paid time off for ante-natal care.This includes relaxation and parent craft classes as well as medical examinations.You should notify your manager as soon as practical of any absences for ante-natal care.
孕期,麻麻们有权请假参加产前医疗,包括放松、父母速成班和产检。请尽量提前跟万恶的师太通气。
Statutory Maternity Leave is 52 weeks. 总共有52周的法定产假
Ordinary Maternity Leave - first 26 weeks
Additional Maternity Leave - last 26 weeks
Ordinary Maternity Leave 基本产假
You have a right to 26 weeks Ordinary Maternity Leave (OML) regardless of your length of service or hours of work. You can decide to start your OML at any time after the 11th week before your Expected
Week of Childbirth (EWC).
可以休26周产假,不管麻麻们被剥削了多长时间,part-time还是full-time,可以选择在宝宝出生前11周内开休。
Additional Maternity Leave 额外产假
In addition to OML, you also have a right to take 26 weeks Additional Maternity Leave (AML) regardless of your length of service or hours of work.
除了基本产假,如果愿意的话,英雄的母亲们还可以接茬再休26个礼拜。
Notification Requirements 通知要求
You should inform your manager as soon as possible of your pregnancy, to enable the Company to be in the best position to safeguard your health and safety.The 15th week before your EWC is a critical point as by this date, or as soon as is reasonably practicable, you must formally notify the Company by completing the Maternity Leave form in Appendix 2 and attach your completed MatB1 form, which you can obtain from your doctor or midwife. Once the Company has received your completed Maternity Leave form, the HR Department will write to you to confirm the start and end date of your maternity leave. If you have not received this confirmation within 21 days, please contact the HR Department.

2.2 Pay during Maternity Leave产假期间的福利
Your pay during maternity leave consists of a statutory component and a Company component.
包括法定福利和公司福利
Statutory Component – Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) 法定产假福利
Most employees will be eligible for Statutory Maternity Pay2. This consists of:
• 90% of your average weekly earnin
大部分人都可以拿到法定福利,包括6周薪水的90%, 然后33周的法定福利(如果低于90%周薪的话)
You will be eligible for SMP if you meet the following criteria:
• at the 15th week before the Expected Week of Childbirth, you will have worked continuously for the Company as an employee for at least 26 weeks;
• you have provided the Company with your completed Maternity Leave Form and MATB1;
• your average weekly earnings are not less than the lower earnings limit for the payment of National Insurance contributions.
麻麻们拿到这个钱,要满足以下条件:
在预产期15周之前要在公司工作满26周
要填2个表
麻麻们的平均薪水不能少于付社保的最低限,就是必须交过社保。
You may still qualify for an alternative state benefit such as Maternity Allowance or Incapacity Allowance even if you are not eligible for Statutory Maternity Pay. For more information about this, please contact the HR Department or see the Department for Work and Pensions website (http://www.dwp.gov.uk/).
可以申请额外的福利,具体可登陆移民局官网查看。
Your eligibility for SMP and Company Maternity Pay ceases if you work for and receive a salary from another employer after the birth of your baby.
如果在享受福利期间,麻麻们又开始工作了,福利自动中止。所以麻麻们千万要好好在家歇着!
Company Component – Company Maternity Pay 公司福利
The Company will extend the 90% of your average weekly earnings from 6 weeks to 12 weeks. Statutory Maternity Pay will be paid for the remaining 27 weeks.
公司一般会把您的90%工资再延长支付6周。
别的公司,90%工资的时间可能不太一样,不过最低是6周
2.5 Return to Work from Maternity Leave 产假归来
Upon your return to work, you will be entitled to return to the same job that you held prior to the start of your maternity leave. Occasionally after AML this is not reasonably practicable and in these circumstances, you will be offered a suitable alternative job.
产假结束,英雄的麻麻们如果选择回到原单位,那么一般你有权回到原来职位,如果情况不允许,单位应该给你找个类似的工作。
When you exercise your right to return, the period you have spent on maternity leave will not be counted as a break in your service when calculating service-related benefits.

3 Paternity Leave 爹假 (有点意思啊)
The Company recognizes that the birth or adoption of a child is a special time that requires time at home, supporting the mother and caring for the new child. If you are the biological father, or you have responsibility for the child’s
3.1 Paternity Pay
You may request to take a period of paternity leave of up to 2 weeks. You will be paid your basic salary, excluding overtime, bonus and any other supplementary allowances, for the first week. The second week is paid at the current rate of Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP)5.
爸爸们也可以休2周的产假,头一周给基本工资,第二周给法定爹假福利。
Please note that paternity leave must be taken within 56 days of the birth or adoption of your child.
爹假必须在孩子出生或收养后56天内休,过期作废
4 Adoption Leave 收养假
4.1 Length of Adoption Leave
You will be eligible for to up to 52 weeks leave.

4.2 Pay during Adoption Leave 收养福利
As with maternity leave, your pay during adoption leave consists of a statutory component – Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) and a Company component.
也是基本加上公司福利
Statutory Component – Statutory Adoption Pay 基本收养福利
If you have worked continuously for the Company as an employee for at least 26 weeks up to the matching week you will be paid Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) for up to 39 weeks or 90% of your average weekly earnings if this is less than the rate of Statutory Adoption Pay.
如果收养前工作26周以上,可以享受39周基本福利。
Company Component – Company Adoption Pay 公司收养福利
If you have worked continuously for the Company as an employee for at least 26 weeks up to the matching week, the Company will top up your Statutory Adoption Pay during the first 6 weeks to 100% of your Company Average Weekly Salary where this is greater than your SAP.
公司在头6周基本福利的基础上,把福利补足至100%基本工资水平。
