方便大家能更好地听懂Aussie讲的话。

She’ll be apples!

她会变成苹果？不不，意思是放心，事情会变好的。指事情，什么事都用She。

Everything will be fine!

True blue

指非常澳洲的东西，比如true blue aussie就是土生土长拥有澳洲价值观的澳洲人。

指澳大利亚男子

努力工作养家的人

Someone who works hard to earn a living

That’s bang on

非常正确

That’s exactly right

I will try it

A sign of approval of something that someone has done well

查酒驾的警车，一般长这样。

A police van for testing drivers’ alcohol level

Bunyip

澳洲土著传说中的奇怪怪物，喜欢待在有水的地方，比如沼泽地。

满得要溢出来

Totally full so you can fit no more in

You’ll be waiting till the cows come home

等到牛回家，也就是等非常长时间，不知道等到什么时候。因为牛是著名的走路慢悠悠，等牛回家就不知道等到什么时候了，所以衍生出这个用法。

You’ll be waiting all day

I’ll go and have a Captain Cook

意思是去看一眼。因为Captain Cook是发现悉尼的探险家。

I’ll go and have a look at something

He’s dropped his bundle

失控，或者失去希望，开始恐慌。

He has lost control of the situation

Getting a good earbashing

有人对着你狂说，然后还说很长时间。Earbashing本身就是又臭又长令人讨厌的说辞。

Someone talks to you for a long time

Hit the sack

上床睡觉。Sack在口语中有床的意思。

Go to bed to sleep

See you in a jiffy!

拜拜，再见，之后见。In a jiffy就是马上的意思。

See you soon!

You must have kangaroos loose in the top paddock!

意思是你疯了吧。

You must be crazy!

You are leading me up the garden path

带跑偏了，就是骗人的意思。

You are trying to trick me

An ocker

特指比较没文化的澳洲人，对比的是美国的红脖子。

An Aussie that likes beer, sport and women and is rather uncultured

Pull your head in

把脑袋收好，自己管自己的事

Mind your own business

That’s a rip-off!

形容什么东西太贵了

That’s too expensive!

It’s a ripper!

非常棒，非常好。Ripper原本的意思是杀人碎尸者……

It’s really great!
