The Siri team is looking for exceptionally skilled and creative Engineers eager to get involved in hands-on work improving the Siri experience. 

·Ability to develop Python code and run experiments using and Unix Shell). Experience with a software version control system such as GIT

·Ideally, experience using ASR packages such as Kaldi, HTK, Sphinx and/or OpenFST

·Organized, self-motivated, disciplined, detail-oriented and collaborative

·Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin and Japanese is required; proficiency in other languages, especially East Asian languages, is desirable

·Knowledge of phonetics and linguistics and ability to capture details of pronunciation

·Strong ability in combining computing skills with an understanding of how to run and interpret experiments and above all a passionate interest in spoken language and pronunciation

You will be a part of a team responsible for a wide variety of language-related research and development activities, including acoustic modeling, language modeling, speech synthesis and tools development. The work may involve running experiments and interpreting their results, observing, studying and carefully transcribing spoken language, and constructing software tools to help with these activities. You should be passionate about creating phenomenal products. Because you'll be working closely with engineers from a number of other teams at Apple, you’re a team player who thrives in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities. You will be keen to see your work make a contribution to Apple's products and will consequently be prepared to work with priorities that may change according to commercial needs and changes in priorities.
