About the China Recruitment Officer 

The China Recruitment Officer is responsible for the recruitment of Chinese international students for both full degree and non-award programs at UNSW from the People’s Republic of China, organising recruitment events and developing relationships with key stakeholders including representative agents, schools and other stakeholders, providing strategic support to the China Country Director in relation to project planning and reporting as required.

This position will involve travel as required. There is an expectation that travel will amount to a minimum of 25% of the business year per annum.

Responsibilities:

1.    Recruitment: In conjunction with the China Country Director and the wider recruitment team meet specified targets for this region and develop conversion strategies for identified markets.

2.    Promotion of UNSW: In conjunction with the China Country Director and the wider China team, implement strategies and initiatives across varying market channels to suit the needs of specific regions to build the University’s profile and reputation.

3.    Client Relationships: Maintain quality client service to students, academics, overseas and domestic stakeholders. Responding to all enquiries and providing ongoing support and advice to students, and their home institutions as required.

4.    International Promotion: Promote UNSW both domestically and internationally as determined by the China Country Director including conferences, exhibitions, fairs and institutional visits.

5.    UNSW Faculty Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain constant communication with Faculty Marketing Officers and provide reports to the China Country Director on new programs, initiatives and recruitment activities.

6.    Other duties: Such other duties as assigned by the China Country Director and the broader UNSW senior management team.

7.    Health & Safety: Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that their actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others in the office and university. Knowledge of OHS, EEO/AA responsibilities.

Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will have:

•  Passion, energy and positive work ethic.

•  Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience in recruitment, education, management or a related discipline.

•   Events management experience with excellent networking skills.

•  Proven ability to work in a team environment but ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.

•  Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills. Confidence to present information in a wide range of forums, including fairs, conferences and other international education activities.

•  Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills with the ability to manage priorities across a broad range of tasks whilst maintaining quality and the capacity to meet deadlines.

•  Translation and interpretation skills.

•  High-level computer skills including Microsoft Office and experience with databases combined with accuracy and attention to detail.

•  Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, and to work outside normal hours to attend social functions and other activities involving students and international visitors. Demonstrated safety awareness through unswerving commitment to defined safety systems and processes.

•  Act with integrity in the workplace exuding trust, honesty, and decency

• Displays adaptability and resilience to meet a standard of excellence and complete assigned tasks.
