加州大学洛杉矶分校新项目：Master of Applied Economics(M.A.E.)

关于这个新项目：

We are excited to announce the new Master of Applied Economics program at UCLA. Our intensive 9-month program offers unique opportunities for students to master theory and application of the three general areas of economics, enhance their skills in written and oral communication of economic ideas, and gain hands-on experience in elective courses. Students will also share ideas with major economic industry leaders, further preparing them for success in the job market upon graduation.

UCLA2016年新开的项目，叫Master of Applied Economics (M.A.E.)。根据2015年US News美国大学排名，UCLA的经济学专业位列全美第15，之前只有本科和博士学位。这个项目和其他开设经济学硕士的项目有所不同，项目长度才9个月 (3 quarter) ，培养目标也不是为了让学生继续深造，而是为就职而设。

课程设置

第一个quarter包括微观经济理论，宏观经济理论和定量方法课程，第二个会更着重于工具和方法的应用。另外，两个quarter里面还包括了写作和口语课程，训练学生的沟通技巧和写作技巧，也许是为了更有利于找工作吧。第三个quarter则是经济学特定领域的选修课。最后每个学生都要完成一个project（就是论文啦）。我们来看看具体有哪项课程吧：

申请要求

9个月的Master of Applied Economics项目，只设秋季招生，计划招收50人，学费$51176，没有financial aid，不收writing sample。申请截止日期为2016年3月1号（January 2016开始审核）。申请费：$110.00。

背景要求：最低要求本科学历

如果本科是非经济学学位，则需修读过微积分I和II、中级微观经济学和中级宏观经济学。此外，如果没有修读过计量经济学，则最好具备较强的数理统计背景。如上述条件都不具备，可以有条件录取，并于夏季在UCLA先补课。总的来说，项目还是会偏好数理背景较强的申请者！

分数要求：

GPA 3.0以上；

TOEFL 87以上或者IELTS 7.0以上；

要求GRE，不接受GMAT；

文书要求：2RL+1CV+1PS，不收writing sample。
