13   Some people think that cultural traditions will be destroyed if they are used   as money-making attractions aimed at tourists. Others, however, believe that   this is the only way to save these traditions. Discuss both these views and   give your own opinion.

A:   careless travelers tend to exploit tourist   resources. fragile ones are hard to be intact because of repetitive visits.   money-making operators don’t care about them;

A:   attractions with cultural traditions can be   maintained by the income made from tourists. governments lack funding;

Arguments: not the only way, governments can regulate operators to regularly   maintain, government funding

14   Some people think that museums and art galleries should be enjoyable places   to entertain people. Others, however, believe that the purpose of museums and   art galleries is to educate. Discuss both these views and give your own   opinion.

A:   interesting enough attract inbound and outbound   visitors, otherwise lose them, finally closed. cutting-edge technology such   as 3D, VR should be involved

B: supplementary resource for schools and local citizens, as well as   researchers

15   Some people believe that old buildings should be protected by law. Others,   however, think that they should be replaced by new buildings. Discuss both   these views and give your own opinion.

A: laws regulate property development, thus effectively protecting   traditional buildings. Once damaged, they can’t be restored. will lose   national identities. New buildings will become visual pollution, boring, loss   of diversity.

B:   populated country like China desperately demand   more space to accommodate citizens. New buildings may attract younger   generation. Old ones lack maintenance, eg. heating systems don’t work

Arguments:   reach a balance

16   More and more people are moving from rural areas to cities in search of a   better life, but city life has its own problems. What are these problems?   Suggest some solutions.

Problems:   crimes, traffic jam, pollutions, insufficient   supply of quality education and hospitalization

Solutions:   reduce unemployment and strengthen education of   laws, build more roads while developing public transport, regulate using   polluting machines and mechanics, promote environment-friendly practices

17   Charities cannot help everyone in the world. They should only provide aid to   people in need in their own countries. To what extent do you agree or   disagree?

Pros: it’s more important to make nationals and citizens happy, many   problems such as unemployment, crimes, old infrastructures exist for   solutions

Cons: partially participating in international affairs, helping reduce   disasters, support of money and materials, technology

18   Some people believe that dangerous sports should be banned. To what extent do   you agree or disagree?

Dangerous   sports: horse riding, boxing, gymnastics,   football, rugby, motor riding

Pros:   any sports can cause injury and death, more   excitement, more entertainment, laws to protect sportsmen, and to use   protective accessories, moral education by clubs. encouraging aggressive   person to become professional

Cons:   many people died or injured from these sports,   wrong message to children, eg. boxing, that using fists is more effective   than words, developing violence,

19   The time and money spent on the protection of wild animals should be spent on   improving human lives instead. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Pros:   animals are the essential part of the environment   human being live in. without them, human being would suffer.

Cons: limited public treasure should be used efficiently to cope with   or tackle the problems faced by governments including unemployment, lack of   public facilities, aged care centers, hospitals, schools

20   Some people think that governments should impose heavy taxes on drivers and   airlines to protect the environment. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Pros:   in cities they really emit a large amount of   emission into the atmosphere, so they should undertake the responsibility for   reducing the pressure.

Cons:   Other stakeholders should also be responsible for   this, such as chemical factories, households
