Full of princes and princesses; heroes and villains; adventure and discovery, Disney fairy tales can leave a child with a joyous and captivating childhood. On the night of July the 21st, 2017, a story about the magic of Disney’s classic fairy tales opened the prelude of the Calgary Kindergarten English production. When the magic book was opened, Mickey and Minnie mouse, Donald duck and Goofy were all very surprised to find the characters from these stories come to life; that is before they were sucked into the story themselves. 

Now, lets follow them together to experience the magic of this storybook journey.

Big 4 class, Mini 1 class and Big 2 class in the classic story of Cinderella, let us see the beauty, kindness and courage for the pursuit of happiness.

Middle 4 class, Mini 4 class, Mini 5 class and Middle 4 class took us to the colourful underwater world of the Little Mermaid.

From the underwater world of the Little Mermaid we then came to the hot African plains of Simba’s quest in the Lion King, starring our three small classes. Let us see this great example of courage, strength and overcoming difficulties. 

And as we said farewell to the Lion King we came face to face with Middle 2 class, Mini 2 class and Big 3 class on a wonderful adventure with the fairest of them all, snow white; a story full of surprise and suspense about seven dwarves on a mission to save the beautiful snow white. 

And finally we came to the enticing story of a woman who found true inner beauty in a beast become prince; in the jaw-droppingly and unforgettable interpretation of beauty and the beast by Big 1 class, Mini 3 class and Middle 1 class.

The children had learned to enjoy performing on the stage through this English performance. They showed themselves and the English skills confidently, which won abundant applause and cheers from the audience. Parents spoke highly of this performance, they felt touched and joyful seeing children were confident and happy at the stage.
