So join us as a Sales Associate for Samsonite Luggage in the Home department and you’ll help us make sure that that’s exactly what they get. Working as part of a team with Sales Associates, Brand Specialists and Managers, it’s a busy role. Day-to-day, you’ll provide excellent customer service. Approaching and greeting customers, dealing with complaints, working the till, advising on other departments and services, conducting refunds – you’ll do it all and much, much more. Plus, you’ll sell products. Identifying customer needs, you’ll use your expertise to suggest suitable products, alternatives and add-ons, building up one-to-one relationships with returning customers. On top of all that, you’ll take pride in the Selfridges environment, cleaning, tidying and replenishing stock to ensure that our customers enjoy the premium shopping experience they expect and deserve.

Based at our client’s London head office the Far East Sales Engineer’s primary duties will be to generate and assist with sales enquiries, selling lighting control systems, media servers and software based products in China.

You will be part of a growing sales team and required to work between the office and in the field, assisting training seminars and attaining new sales. The Far East Sales Engineer will be expected to develop strong relationships with the company’s Distributors in China and the Far East in order to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction. Speaking to end users on technical queries and requests is crucial as well as assisting Distributors in China during their tradeshows and Open days.

As a Sales Engineer you will report to the Sales Manager and become a contributor to the development of future products by reviewing customer requirements and design specifications. Regular visits to China and the Far East will be expected of the post holder.

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate competency in the following:

  • 1 year's technical sales experience

  • Able to converse fluently in Mandarin

  • Able to converse fluently in English

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Be fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese

  • Hold formal higher education

  • Have significant experience conducting Chinese market research utilising both social media as well as direct market contact

  • The ideal candidate for this role must be confident in both English and Mandarin Chinese and comfortable approaching and speaking to key decision makers in a variety of industries, and must work well within a team environment. Occasional travel is a necessity of this role.
