2017 King's Interim Police Registration Process 国王学生的专属警察登记安排

2017年09月07日 伦敦国王学院

Chinese students who are coming to study a PhD/master/bachelor degree progammes for more than 6 months at King's, should be required to register with the police in the UK as part of your Tier 4 visa conditions.

The requirement of registering with the police is written on either of the below documents:

  • Your entry vignette (the visa sticker given in your passport) if you apply for Tier 4 visas from China (an example shown below, the wording can be slightly different),or

  • Your visa grant letter (the letter Home Office send to you through post to confirm that your visa has been granted) if you extend yout Tier 4 visa from inside the UK.

King's new international students (if living in London) should noramlly register with the Overseas Visitors Records Office (OVRO), but during peak time (September and October of each year) OVRO is very busy. Students have to queue for very long before they can be regsitered. Therefore we have been working with the police for the past years in order to produce a bespoke arrangement for King's new international students specifically.

For 2017/8 cohort, in order to ease new students' police registration process, King’s offer Interim Registration from Monday 11/09/2017 to Friday 22/09/2017 (including the weekend of Saturday 16/09/2017 and Sunday 17/09/2017)This interim process runs alongside the King's new students enrolment procedures at Waterloo campus. It means you can submit all required documents to King’s at the same time as completing your face to face registration and collecting your King's Student Card.

What documents should you bring with you when you attend Registration at King’s?

  • Completed Pro Forma https://www.met.police.uk/globalassets/downloads/overseas-records-office/registration_pro_forma_2016.pdf

(completed on a computer then printed out and signed manually)

  • One passport photograph glued to the pro-forma (do not staple or tape the photograph)

  • A photocopy of your passport data page (the first page contains your details)

  • A photocopy of your visa sticker in your passport (if you applied from outside the UK), or the letter from the Home Office confirming your visa is granted

  • A photocopy of both sides of your BRP (visa), if you have not had BRP cards yet, we can

We will check these for you and submit them to the police on your behalf.  It is very important that you bring all of the above documents with you. A guide on how to complete the pro-forma is available on King’s website https://www.kcl.ac.uk/campuslife/services/student-advice-support/AGs/pdfs/Immigrationadvice/Police-Registration-Pro-Forma-AG.pdf

After we collect your documents from you, we will provide you with an appointment which confirms when and where you must visit the OVRO and collect your Police Registration Certificate. When attending your appointment at the OVRO, you have to carry your original passport + visa and £34 registration fee. The police will hand you completed police registration certificates at the appointment.
