#US-General Election - Who can vote in the GeneralElection & “Get Out the Vote” Registration Drives

American citizens ages 18 and older can registerto vote.  Voting in the United States is atwo-step process. There is no national list of eligible voters, so a citizenmust first qualify by becoming registered. To register, voters must meetthe residency requirements of their states and comply with voter-registrationdeadlines.  Often the voter registration processinspires “get out the vote” efforts for different voter groups, such as MTV’s“Rock the Vote” for young voters or the American Association for Retired People(AARP) organizing voter registration for senior citizens.  "Motorvoter" programs offer eligible voters the convenience of registering tovote at the same time as they apply for a driver's license.  Unlike someother countries, however, the United States does not have a law requiringcitizens to vote.  Can you name any country that does?
