Summary Description:

The position of an account manager is a high-activity position requiring both great customer service and organizational skills. As a niche data and research firm, both the products and related markets we work in demand a high level of product knowledge and understanding of the commodity markets. The suitable candidate will undergo extensive initial training, as well as regular continuing education to develop an understanding of their assigned market(s) and how our products are utilized within their operations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Demonstrate an understanding of the markets the company operates in, and an in-depth knowledge of the company's products, who buys them, and why
Create an account management strategy to defined Asian market sectors involved in the base and precious metals markets
Liaise and speak to existing clients to maintain relationship and support with ongoing enquiries.
Carry out detailed pre-call research on prospective clients and their organizations to maximize
the percentage of trials converting to sales
Properly plan any ad hoc sales activity and keep all relevant parts of the company well informed
Identify and report competitor activity and changes in the marketplace to ensure the best
possible position of the company at all times
Maintain strong inter-departmental communication, both intra and inter office

Continually seek to improve your knowledge of our company products and new offerings
Understand how the economy and major market shifts can affect your clients and the metal
markets as a whole
Generate an intimate understanding of your assigned market sector(s) and clients in them
Increase IT knowledge across our entire line of products to provide basic 1st line support to our
clients

Cross functional Responsibilities

As a member of the Asian Sales Team, assist others, where required, to ensure renewal targets are achieved both individually and as an office overall
Utilize CRM to thoroughly track prospect/client interactions and cross check that you are not dealing with a subsidiary or company being managed by another Business Development Manager or Account manager

Provide customer feedback and market intelligence to the Editorial and IT teams regarding product and content development
Maintain close communication with the Global sales team and other internal Departments Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in the industry
Business level speaking ability in either Mandarin, Korean or Japanese
Strong English speaking skills.
Competitive nature and strong desire to succeed
Results driven
Demonstrate strong drive and enthusiasm
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a strong eye for detail
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in office IT skills and familiarity with MS Office and the Internet
