EVERY CULTURE MATTERS

SAY NO TO RACISM

COVID19 Racism Online Survey

https://www.jinglee.com.au/covid_19_racism_survey

Australia is a proud country of migrants and South Australia is a very proud State that values our cultural diversity. It’s important we do everything possible to keep South Australia SAFE and STRONG.

Since the CoronaVirus outbreak, I am deeply concerned about the escalating level of racism and anti-social behaviors towards Asian-Australians.

When racial tensions develop, they don't just affect one or two of us - they affect all of us as neighbours, workmates, friends, community members and fellow Australians.

Racism creates a society where people don't trust and respect each other. When it's allowed to flourish, it lessens us as people and as an inclusive multicultural society. There are no reasons or excuses for racism. It's just wrong. There is NO PLACE for racism anywhere, anytime!

Racism is discrimination, pre-judgements or hostile behaviours directed at another person on the basis of their race, ethnicity or cultural background.

Racism can come in many different forms, from harsh comments to offensive actions. In more extreme cases, racism occurs in public spaces and comes from strangers, and can escalate to violent hate crimes. In these cases, racism is against the law. It’s important that you report those incidents to SAPOL Police Stations or call 131 444 immediately. For Emergency situation, call 000.

If you or someone you know have experienced racism during this unprecedented difficult period of CoronaVirus; please complete this online survey so that we can collectively tackle this ugliness together.

Remember our common enemy is CoronaVirus. It impacts on our lives and livelihoods.

The Virus doesn’t discriminate. It has infected people of all cultures in over 200 countries in the world. This pandemic has caused fear, anguish, pain, suffering and loss of lives every single day. This is not a time for hatred. This is a time to be united and show kindness!

Please let me know your thoughts and experience through the online survey. Thank you and be safe and well.
