Quan joined Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in December 1999 to work on inspections and regulations of importing and exporting food.

Prior to joining Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Quan worked for Shanghai Import and Export Commodity Inspection Bureau, inspecting agricultural exports and food exports.

Qian joined Alibaba in early 2015 to help the company to expand its businesses globally. He has lead B2B marketing and BD teams, located in Asia, Europe and North America to develop global marketing strategies, execute regional implementation plans, and search and partner with various international partners to offer better products and services to help SMBs. He liaises with management in China to help develop better products and services for Alibaba's global customers - all to make their business easy everywhere.

Qian holds an MBA from University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University in Hamilton.
