There have been many inventions in human history, such as wheel. Some people think the most important thing is the Internet. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Advancement in diverse fields has resulted in massive breakthroughs and great inventions. It is believed that the most important development is the Internet and I agree with this view to a large extent as through this invention, tremendous possibilities have been created globally.

Firstly, the Internet has opened international markets and has created a boom in the world economy. Nowadays, anyone can access the products and services of an e-commerce business from anywhere on the globe with extreme convenience. For example, consumers can buy distinct products such as electronics, clothing and pet supplies with just the click of their computers through various online shopping websites such as Amazon and Alibaba. These online shoppers may be from big metropolitan cities or from underprivileged rural areas, which makes the Internet a means of closing the gap between the different economic classes and boosts a nation’s development.

Moreover, the Internet has enhanced connectivity within the community. Individuals are able to communicate and socialise on various platforms and stay in constant touch with their loved ones or expand their personal and professional networks. For instance, with the onset of Facebook and WhatsApp, friends and family members can converse with each other and keep each other updated on their lives at any time, while strangers can acquaint with like-minded people easily. As a result, people have become closer and more extroverted, and societies have become more open and close-knit.

In conclusion, the modern world has brought several inventions, but I completely agree with the idea that the Internet is the most significant creation of mankind as it brings manifold benefits to individuals, the society as well as the entire world.
