 up in the air

Air 是空气，也可以表示空中。up in the air 字面意思看起来就是“在天上”

但是我们口语上经常用“up in the air”来表达“没有决定，还是未知”的意思。

I don't know what to wear. It's still up in the air. 

我不知道要穿什么，还没定好。

 under the weather

这个可不是“在天气下面”，这个是表示“身体不适，不舒服”。

He's a little under the weather, let him sleep. 

他身体有点不舒服，让他睡吧。

hit the gym 

hit 是打，gym是健身房。估计这个意思大家都猜到了，肯定不是打健身房啦。我们用这个表示去健身房运动。

I'm gonna go hit the gym. 

我要去健身。

 butterflies in my stomach 

butterfly 是蝴蝶，stomch是肚子，胃。这可不是“胃里有蝴蝶”，而是表达“我紧张不安”，通常前面用动词get。

I get butterflies in my stomach when I talk to her. 

和她说话时我心里会很紧张。

ring a bell

ring a bell字面意思是“按一个门铃”，而是“对...有印象，想起来..”

His face rings a bell, I've seen him somewhere.

我对他的脸有印象，我在哪里见过他。

Look at it, does it ring a bell? 

看看这个，想起什么了吗？

The farther backward you can look,the farther forward you will see.
